Peoria Proud and Equality Illinois, the state’s LGBTQ civil rights organization, are partnering
with LGBTQ advocates on a bold statewide campaign to help educate community leaders about
the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and to organize for change.
As part of this education and outreach effort, Peoria Proud as the local partner, will host our
annual LGBTQ+ Town Hall with local public officials on Monday, April 3rd, at 6pm. The event will
be in person at the Peoria North Branch Library.
Please note:
● This is a nonpartisan, education event. You are being invited to this town hall because
the LGBTQ+ residents of Peoria want to educate you about their experiences and to
inform you about issues of importance to them. The event will not include any
endorsements or political activity.
● We are also inviting the Mayor of Peoria and DIO Melodi Green
● Additionally, we have invited U.S. Rep. Jehan Gordon Booth and Eric Sorenson, and state
legislators to participate.
